Artist Greeting Cards
A set of 6 greeting cards featuring one of my popular Japanese woodblock prints. The fleur-de-lis symbol depicts a stylised lily or lotus flower, and is said to represent French royalty as well as perfection, light, and life. Elegant floral tiles inspired by this motif can be found in many heritage Peranakan shophouses in Singapore and Penang. Includes worldwide shipping.
Artist Handmade Japanese Woodblock Print
'Peranakan Peony' Japanese woodblock print. Peonies are a traditional symbol of royalty, rank and honour in Chinese culture. Inspired by an antique batik sarong in the Peranakan Museum of Singapore, this print is a fusion of Chinese, European and Indonesian cultures. 'Peranakan Peony' is a handmade print featuring pink and green tones. Open edition. Image size 9 x 14cm fits Ikea Ribba frame 21 x 30cm. Includes worldwide shipping.

Option A: 'Belgium Duo' is based on a delicate vintage tile from the Netherlands, but this Art Nouveau design can found on some heritage shophouses around Singapore. I also discovered this tile at my great grandfather's Hokkien clan temple on Cantonment Road.
Option B: 'Wealth & Luck' uses peonies 牡丹 (mudan), which are often used to symbolise richness, happiness and success. Loquat 枇杷 (pipa), the yellow grape-like fruit featured, is considered lucky or a sign of good fortune as the fruit ripens in early spring.
Both prints are an open edition from the Trade Tile Series. Image size 15 x 15cm. Includes worldwide shipping.
