BE INSPIRED BY SINGAPORE SHOPHOUSE TILES
Create your own vintage tile inspired fabric artwork in an express workshop perfect for beginners and experienced creatives. Using the block printing technique, you’ll design and print your own handmade table runner or decorative hanging artwork perfect as a memento of Singapore. Enjoy an introduction to Chinese Peranakan culture while relaxing in my cosy HDB studio in Toa Payoh.
You’ll use a range of tried-and-tested design templates, and are encouraged to try creating your own layout. It’s great fun to personalise your print by choosing your favourite blocks from my hand-carved collection. I’ve prepared a selection of specially-mixed textile inks based on shophouse colour schemes, and we’ll do some test prints to ensure you’ve got the hang of things first!
Busy creatives will appreciate our pre-hemmed cotton fabric that is ready to display straight away.
Our special session will finish with some local Peranakan sweets, cappuccino and green tea. Come hands-free with all tools, material, supplies and aprons provided.
