Museum guiding - it's been a great excuse to finally get a kebaya blouse & sarong. Last time I was on holidays in Penang, I bit the bullet and got a ready-to-wear kebaya. Although I've been a Museum Volunteer guide with the Peranakan Museum for over two years, I've never got the courage to wear the whole kit and caboodle. With my father getting sick recently, it made me think that it would be nice to dig deeper into his culture - and help carry on something that was so important to him.
So for anyone who is free this Saturday 21st, 2015 @ 2pm at the Peranakan Museum, you'll get the chance to see me dressed up with my nyonya garb. I only hope my sarong will hide what too many pineapple tarts have done to me of late!
