Jennifer trained under Australian artist Patsy Payne, Japanese printmaker Akira Kurosaki and German-Australian artist Jorg Schmeisser. She specialized in Japanese Woodblock Printing and Papermaking at Kyoto Seika University during a year-long exchange program. She was also a summer intern at the 400-year-old Kyo Karakami paper-printing workshop in Kyoto.  

Fashion and textiles are also her interests and during a six-year stay in Japan, she helped launch a Japanese fashion label distinct for its fusion Asian style and bespoke textiles. With her background in language, she has worked as a translator, interpreter and editor at institutions including the American Embassy in Tokyo, the Australian Embassy in Tokyo and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
